Hot Filling Limitations for PET Cans

Generally, NO. Standard PET plastic has a heat distortion temperature of around 60°C to 65°C (140°F - 150°F). If you pour boiling liquid (90°C+) into a standard PET can, it will shrink, deform, and melt instantly.

The Solution: You must cool your beverage down to at least room temperature (or below 50°C) before filling. This packaging is designed for Cold Brew, Iced Tea, Sodas, and Ambient Temperature Juices.

Shelf Life Comparison: PET vs. Glass

PET technology is advanced, but plastic is naturally slightly permeable compared to glass or metal.

Carbonated Drinks: Expected shelf life of 3 to 6 months before carbonation levels start to drop.
Non-Carbonated Drinks: With proper sealing and nitrogen flushing, shelf life can extend to 6 to 12 months.
